Grove Women's Ministry
It is a priority of our ministry to seek to have our plans, projects, and the various prongs of our Women’s Ministry to come under, support, and seek to fulfill the mission statement of PGBC. As such, we divide our ministry into three areas of emphasis established in the church-wide mission statement: Abide, Unite, and Engage. Those particular emphases are notated beside each ministry area/project in parenthesis by (A), (U), or (E).
Ministry Areas and Projects:
1) Telos Class(es) (A,U)
The Five Cultural Pillars of Poplar Grove: worship, connect, grow, serve and share. Therefore we make it our aim through our Telos classes to equip believers to comprehensively follow Christ. These core values serve as motivation for our ministry and are the indicators of the health of Poplar Grove.
“Let us leave the elementary doctrines of Christ and go on to maturity (telos)” (Hebrews 6:1)

2) Discipleship Groups (D-Groups) (A,U)
D-Groups are closed groups structured around a Bible reading plan, accountability, and discussion questions which seek to provide encouragement, authentic community, and the pressing of one another toward spiritual maturity.
Our D-Groups meet on Sunday evenings at the church in order to offer childcare. We form new group each January and August. If you have questions about joining a D-Group please email Elizabeth Fikes, one of our Women’s Ministry leaders.
3) Community Building Events (in-reach) (U)
We offer a variety of opportunities for women of all generations to connect and grow together. From our annual fall retreat and share suppers to spring teas and prayer breakfasts, each event is designed to foster meaningful relationships and spiritual growth. In keeping with the Titus 2 mandate, we also invite high school-aged women to join these gatherings, encouraging cross-generational connections and mentorship. Whether you’re seeking fellowship or deeper spiritual bonds, there’s a place for you in our community.
4) Outreach Events and Service (U,E)
We create opportunities for women to connect with one another, bring friends not currently involved in church, and serve the local community. These events are designed to build meaningful relationships, provide a welcoming space for new faces, and extend love and support through hands-on service. Whether you’re looking to invite a friend to a casual gathering or roll up your sleeves for a service project, there are plenty of ways to get involved and make a difference together.
